Cornici/Frames
Tra i quadri e noi c'è un perimetro contenitore, la cornice, che da sempre è obbligata a non rompere le scatole, a subordinarsi alle caratteristiche di tutto il resto (del quadro, della sala, del tipo di spettatori, ecc). Pippo Basile sovverte questo ordine di cose. Grazie alla sua mano libera e capace crea delle vere opere d’arte realizzate con materiali a volte comuni a volte inconsueti (legno, vetro, metallo, cartone), ma sempre con grandissima maestria.

Frames
Between us and the pictures there is a containing perimeter, the frame, which since ever is obliged to be not too much intrusive, and to be dependent on all the rest (the picture, the environment, the public, etc). Pippo just subverts this principle. Thanks to his hand, free and expert, he creates true pieces of art, sometimes with very common materials, at other times with unusual ones, but always with a superb mastery.
